The short version of the plot goes like this: Kristy's father Larry and stepmother Julia move into Larry's old house. But alas, before moving in, Larry's brother Frank was already living there and used some magic puzzle box and summoned a buncha weird demon sadists dressed in leather, called the cenobites. They fucked him up and now he needs blood. . . To be alive again!And cuz Julia’s got the hots for him, she helps him. And then Kristy finds out and without knowing, opens up the puzzle box and- Y'know. Just watch it. It's so fucking good.

Now let's talk about the sfx. ITS SICK!! There's a moment where Frank comes out of the floorboards all bloody and stuff and it's awesome. This is a real high-production film! The human remains look real! How I love 80's horror, no CGI in sight. The makeup on the cenobites is sick, I love how uncanny they are. Pinhead of course is there, my favourite horror movie guy ever. If you haven't seen Hellraiser, you have definitely still heard of Pinhead! Clive didn't even originally like the name and just called him Lead Cenobite, but warmed up to it later on. The other cenobites are super cool too, wish they got more screen time. Especially since the makeup took so long!

Some may say the ending doesn't belong, or that it's "schlocky" but (slight spoilers) I disagree! Or maybe I'm just biased because I unironically love schlock horror. But the sick-ass dragon was a cherry on top for me. Love dragons

There's a reason this movie's such a classic! The themes of sadomasochism drew me in and I've been a fan ever since. Definitely one of my favorites of all time. There's SEX, there's BLOOD, there's TORTURE, there's SICK ASS CENOBITES… What more could you want?! A great movie from a brilliant mind… WATCH IT RIGHT NOW!!!!!1!!1
